Everybody has bumped at least once in his life into Marvel and its
enormous project of the Marvel Cinematic Universe(MCU), a huge film and
television world in which superheroes fight together against villains. Since
its launch, the American colossus has released 25 movies and tv series linked
to each other These new productions have aroused great interest an enthusiasm
among fans, especially teenagers.
“Agents
of S.H.I.E.L.D.” (AOS), an American TV series developed by the issuer ABC in
2013 is one of them.
The TV series follows the adventures of Phil Coulson and his team of
secret agents against evil threats like HYDRA, the Inhumans, androids,
murderers and other dangerous enemies.
The character of Phil Coulson had already appeared in 2012 film “The
Avengers”. Having seen how much the public appreciated him, they decided to give
him a more important role.
The American channel has broadcast four seasons and now the fifth one is
on and it is getting great success. In season 5 many characters have been presented
and there were also crossover episodes, where important characters from the
other projects of the franchise made their appearances.
On December 2016 a web series linked to AOS was launched. It can be
considered a kind of spin-off though it contains only 6 short episodes. Its name is “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”:
Slingshot” and the main character is Elena “Yo-Yo” Rodriguez, who is one of the
Agents in the main tv series.
Cast and Characters
Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) is a Former Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. and he
served as one of the organization’s best operatives. He is the leader of the
team. He is a very good person, who puts the others’ needs before his own and,
for the greater good, he always puts himself through much suffering. He has
also a humorous side, displayed with witty and sarcastic comments. He is often
serious and harsh.
Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet), known as Skye or quake, was a genius level
hacker before being recruited by Phil Coulson, becoming a former operative. She’ll
discover to have an incredible power,
the vibration manipulation. She has very good skills at spying and martial arts.
She grew up as an orphan, so she spent her life without stability, rarely trusting
people. She often uses humour to distract herself from difficult situations.
She is very protective, and she always sees the best in other people.
Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) is an operative with great experience as a
pilot and as a soldier. She is a very good friend of Phil’s, nicknamed “the
Cavalry”. She is a quiet and fearless person. She was married to a Psychologist
and neurologist. May has great respect for Coulson, always venerating the
orders even though they go against her desires and she is very protective and
secretive.
Leo Fitz (Iain de Caretaker) is a weapon and technology expert and
engineer. Fitz is socially awkward, but despite that, he gets along remarkably
well with his partner Jemma. He is very jealous and protective of her. He is also
very smart but not as athletic as the rest of the team.
Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge) is a biochemist. She is very
enthusiastic and forgiving and has a lively personality. She is very kind and
calm and doesn’t succeed in lying. Like his partner she is very smart and not
very athletic.
