IS DONALD TRUMP KEEPING HIS PROMISES?

On November 11th,2016 Lorenzo wrote a very interesting post about the President of the U.S.A, Donald Trump It tells about President Trump’s promises during his election campaign.
Today my task is to analyse what Donald Trump has done since his election. I mean, has he kept his promises?

   1.   What about a plunge?
Do you remember Trump’s idea about reintroducing waterboarding? Well, nothing’s happened. He affirmed this could be a good method to get information from Islamic terrorists. As for this item, I would like to quote that 5th article of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights which says: "No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment."

   2.  An new “Great Wall”
The Mexico-Usa barrier is a series of walls built on the American / Mexican borders. During the political campaign he said he would built it when, in fact,  it already existed. On September 29th 2006 - under Bush’ presidency -  the U.S. Senate had confirmed the construction of 1,125 km of barrier along the border. What President Trump did was extending it with an executive order. This year they invested $3 billion but in 2018 it might increase.

   3.  No more Islamic immigrants
President Trump’s executive order of January 27th had forbidden Iranian, Iraqi, Somalian, Sudanese, Syrian and Yemenite people to enter the U.S.A. Just a few days later a Federal Court obstructed this choice.
   4.  The weather isn’t so important, is it?
Probably President Trump thought that while he was deciding to pull back from the 2015 Paris Convention on Climate Changes. Unfortunately, this time, he kept his promise. In his opinion, that deal doesn’t promote the industrial production.

   5.  No more “dreamers”
In 2012 Barack Obama signed the D.A.C.A, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival, so that the “dreamers” could go to school and work. A “dreamer” is a child of an undocumented immigrant. In September Jeff Sessions, Minister of Justice, decided to start deleting the D.A.C.A.

   6.  The deal between America and Japan.
President Trump kept his word about Japan and its weapons. The U.S.A will supply Japan with antimissiles and F-35s. During his journey of State, he also said no to the TPP (Trans-Pacific Partnership) with Japan.

   7.  What about abortion?
After his declarations against abortion, President Trump decided to stop giving federal grants to the non-governmental organizations. Most of the reactions were not in favour of his idea.
Moreover, there were only men in the Oval Office during the signing of the decree.

What do you think of Mr Trump’s administration?
What are your opinions about his promises?
