A LONG TIME AGO IN A GALAXY FAR, FAR AWAY

“A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away”. Have you ever heard or seen this phrase in the opening scene of a movie? If not, it means you have never seen a Star Wars movie.

Star Wars is an American epic space movie franchise created by George Lucas, who started writing the first movie of the saga in 1973.
It debuted four years later and the first film was followed by 2 sequels every three years.
At the beginning he didn’t expect all the success he got so he had to start planning the script of the sequel.
In 2012 this franchise was bought by Disney that decided to make a sequel trilogy and three spin offs.
But only the first movie has been released while the second one in the sequel trilogy is going to come out in December.

This is the third most profitable franchise made up of films, books,  cartoons, videogames and comic books.

THE SETTING, THE FACTIONS AND THE ETERNAL FIGHT

The Star Wars franchise takes place in a nameless galaxy  at an indefinite time in the past where aliens, humans and droids (that assist them in their daily routines) coexist. Despite this, technology is very developed in fact there are space ships and incredible weapons like light sabres and dark stars.

In the three trilogies 3 different kinds of governing body are shown: Galactic Republic, Galactic Empire and New Republic.
The key element of the Star Wars galaxy is the Force described as an energy field created by a ling thing that surround us, penetrates us and binds the galaxy together. So rarely babies are given this incredible gift connected to the force and with training they are able to do incredible things.
Unfortunately, the force is used by two factions: the Jedi who joins the light side and the Sith who uses the dark side.
The plot of this saga follows the eternal fight between good and evil (Jedi and good people against Sith and who follows them).

STAR WARS-EPISODE V: THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK

Among all the films in this saga there is one that, in our opinion, is the best, and its name is “EPISODE V-THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK”.
The story is set three years after the destruction of the Death Race by Luke and now the Rebel Alliance has settled on the ice planet Hoth while the Imperial fleet of the evil Darth Vader is sifting the galaxy to their research.
In the meantime, Luke Skywalker sees the force ghost of Obi-Wan Kenobi, his deceased mentor, who invites him to go to Yoda, the last Jedi Master, who lives on the Dagobah system. Then Luke, with the droid R2-D2, starts training under Yoda.
The Empire manages to find the Rebels who must escape; then Han Solo and  Princess Leila, with the Wookie Chewbacca and the droid C-3PO, decide to go to Cloud City, which is ruled by Lando Calrissian, an  old friend of Han’s.   However, when they arrive they are caught by Darth Vader who had set a trap.
While he is training, Luke sees a premonition of Han and Leia in danger and, consequently,  he goes to Cloud City to save them, but when he arrives he finds Darth Vader who tries to convert him to the dark side of the Force. They fight and during the battle Darth Vader reveals that he is his father, Anakin Skywalker. Luke, horrified by the truth, intentionally falls off into an air shaft.
At the same time Han is transformed into a block of carbonite and he is taken to Jabba the Hutt, a famous criminal, by the bounty hunter Boba Fett.
So Lando and Leila with Chewbacca, R2-D2 and C-3PO save Luke and they decide to go to Jabba to save Han.

We suggest you watch this incredible saga if you like sci-fi and adventure,  also because these movies are part of a cult and  have revolutionized the way of making cinema, inspiring famous producers like Ridley Scott, Peter Jackson and Joss Whedon.
